Age Well Yoga workshops are designed to inform, lead and encourage you through a learned shared experience, as to how best manage the ageing process.

Understanding what’s possible is the first step in navigating a pathway towards longevity.

 

​​Through education, breathwork, body awareness, and mindful movement, you will discover new, innovative and exciting ways, of moving into older age.

The workshops require no previous experience of yoga practice, just an open mind and the ability to get down and up from the floor.

The Art of Resting

The art of resting deeply, is one of the great healing resources available to us. It is not a passive process, but an active engagement in developing, nurturing and bringing online the relaxation response.

 

Winter is the season of stillness, reflection, and deep nourishment. Nature itself demonstrates the art of rest: trees conserve energy, shed their leaves, seeds lie dormant beneath the earth, and animals retreat into hibernation.

 

This seasonal stillness is not wasted time, but the foundation for renewal.

 

Modern life rarely honours this rhythm. Our culture pushes us to live in an endless cycle of “spring and summer energy” (movement, expansion, achievement) without honoring autumn and winter (slowing, releasing, resting and resetting).

 

It is not until one has actually stopped and relaxed fully and deeply, that we recognise the tensions we were carrying through life.

 

This workshop invites us to experience deep rest through specific Yin postures. Movements will be gentle, slow, and fluid, reflecting the qualities of the Water element that corresponds with the winter season. Our meditations will be grounding, guiding us inward to replenish and rebuild our energy reserves.

 

The stillness you will experience doesn’t just offer temporary relaxation—it helps retrain the body and mind to move into a rest-and-digest state, which carries over into the night as deeper, more restorative sleep.
